1988-1992 Graduated from national course of Art's & Crafts- Krakow Poland. 1991 Launched "Manufaktura' & showed her first catwalk show in Krakow. Poland. 1994 -1997 created her live/work space in her Montmartre atelier in Paris & began selling her label in Paris, Strasbourg, London & New York. She designed, built & launched her own website in 2002 & has since taken part in several catwalk shows all over Europe for which she creates her own digital media art & music mixes. |

What is the concept of your label? |

Trashy flashy power dressing with patchwork fabrics; splashed paint; colourful prints & nested threads are Paulina's trademark techniques. She is unlimited in her experimentation of materials & her aim is to create a totally unique 'art wardrobe'. Her label Manufaktura is a kind of art factory & working concept based on the unusual blend of textile techniques Paulina uses. Her inspiration is varied but the main themes are: Central European folklore; XIX Century Paris & historical costumes; fine & graphic art as well as popular culture (rock&roll + pop art) nature and fairy tales. She blends all these influences together into a "crazy patchwork" to create a brand new & totally unique material which is then coutured to become a small line of 'pieces uniques' (one-off designs). |
