Sarah gained a degree in fashion knitwear & worked in Italy, the far East & Japan plus set up her own fashion business before going to Africa to work with local craftspeople developing ethical export products. On her return to the UK in 2001 she combined these 2 loves (fashion & travel) by founding Opika.
Virginia also trained as a fashion designer & began her career in design & Illustration before making a move into fashion marketing & management for retail. In 2004 she decided to return to her roots & joined Opika as a designer & co partner. |

What is the concept of your label? |

Love of travel, a fascination of world cultures & an appreciation for what women want helps drive & inspire Opika's designs whilst high principles of craftmanship & fair trade ensure good quality, strong design,ethical materials and manufacture are employed for every item they make. The result is superbly tactile & unique bags & belts for women who like to express their individuality. |
